Ambiguously Disgruntled Manifesto

wasting your time since 1975

Yippee, another New York champion... boy that makes me... ambivalent. Its nice to see the Pats lose... *sigh*

I would say that most every Stupor Blow I've watched, there is a point somewhere in the third quarter where I am suddenly struck by the fact that "oh yeah, this is just a football game." This time, it struck me about that time that "Oh yeah, this isn't a particularly interesting football game. I'd say it followed what has become somewhat of a Stupor Blow formula: be lame for 3 quarters and then batshit exciting in the 4th... or maybe I'm just saying that because that was Exactly the game that the Pats won their first Stupor Blow over the Rams... yeah, that latter is more likely.

What is really the trend here is that Major North American Professional Sports Regular Seasons have become almost meaningless. Sure, all those games determine who makes the post-season, but in many leagues almost 50% of teams make the post-season and then, once that starts, whatever happened in the regular season becomes utterly irrelevant. This has often made me wonder why regular seasons are so long... with football it is different, with only 16 games over 4 months instead of a million over 6 months like MLB, NBA, and NHL... but Still...
