I was in Colorado over the Weekend, thanks to Tyler and Angie for their generosity in sharing flight benefits, and Jill and Corey for their generosity in housing and transportation.
You can view all 142 mostly unedited pictures here. I am planning on putting up an honest-to-goodness Photo Journal soon -- that means a couple dozen of the best pictures with extensive Captions!
It was a whirlwind tour, for sure, and we saw a lot, and spent a lot of time in the car, but we saw a lot.... here's a quick rundown:
Friday night: scheduled flight for 6:17 delayed to 7:38 for maintenance, arrived at the massive DIA after 11:00 local time, made the drive out to FoMoCO (Fort Morgan, CO, where Jill and Corey live. It's about 80 miles East of Denver).
Saturday: got up early, had breakfast, jumped in car, drove to Colorado Springs through Denver, headed up to Pikes Peak, road closed at mile 13 at 11,700 ft (top is mile 19, 14,110'), got lunch, headed though Garden of the Gods, drove to Denver, had dinner/beer at Wynkoop Brewery, walked the 16 ST Mall, headed back to the House, got some beer and played Outburst.
Sunday: Arose leisurely, had some breakfast, got going about 1:00 for quick FoMoCO tour, then headed for Red Rocks Apmitheater, Dinosaur Ridge, and Lookout Mt./Buffalo Bill Memorial, had lunch there, drove to Airport, dropped off at 5:20, flight left about 6:30, got home about 8:30.
