wasting your time since 1975

well, another 2055 down, bringing it to:
18583 ( 2064.8/day)

I didn't write a word yesterday, but I just puched out 2144 more, so:
16528 (unofficially) at 1836.4/day

Football football fottball!...

So the Oregon State Beavers walk into Husky stadium as 6-point favorites over the Washington Huskies. Let me repeat that, so anyone with any sense of the history of these two respective programs ca onder the meaning of this. The Oregon State Beavers are 6-point favorites in Hsky Stadium against Washington. Is OSU really going to beat the Huskies tomorrow? Are the snarlin' puppy dawgs really going to let this happen to them?

As for the Cougs, I continue to remain paranoid about jinxing them, and just hope they don't screw this up. They face a tough test against Oregon. Its a game I think they should win, but...

USC over Stanford
UCLA over Arizona
WAZZU Kittycats over Ducks
Arizona State over Cal-Berkeley
Oregon State over Washington

The Seahawks suck. They Can beat Arizona, but it doesn't mean they are any better of a team. The Cardinals appear to be in an absolute tailspin.

St. Louis over San Diego
Denver over Oakland
Pittsburgh over Atlanta
Arizona over Seattle
New Jersey Jest over Miami Dull Fins

whew, just had a good couple hours... and 3434 more words
so I've got 14384 unofficially (I think I may be counting some passages twice) for 2054.9 per day

11/05/2002

9862 words (1972.4 per day) as of right now... and I squandered some prime writing time today... I might try to pound out more tonight, but I should go to bed

I made pumpkin muffins tonight... they are really fucking good.... I mean really good

here are next week's "Pick 'Em" games

NFL:
(Monday night) Oakland @ Denver (it's the 500th MNF game!)
(Sunday night) Miami @ NY Jets
Your C-attle See Hacks @ Arizona
San Diego @ St. Louis
Atlanta @ Pittsburgh

PAC-10
Oregon State @ Washington
Oregon @ WAZZU
Southern Cal @ Stanford
Cal-Berkeley @ Arizona State
Cal-Los Angeles @ Arizona

Here are the "Pick 'Em" results (and season standings after 6 weeks):

Jake (That's Me!)
NFL: 19 this week (100/180 possible for the season, or .555)
PAC-10: 20 this week (123/172 for the season, or .715) *PAC-10 co winner for the week*

Tyler
NFL: 22 this week (82/150 -- Tyler missed last week -- for the season, or .547) *NFL winner for the week*
PAC-10: 20 this week (114/142 for the season, or .803) *PAC-10 co-winner for the week*

Tad (welcome back!)
NFL: 17 this week (56/90 -- Tad has missed the last three weeks -- for the season, or .622)
PAC-10: 18 this week (60/84 for the season, or .714)

DanG (old reliable)
NFL: 21 this week (94/180 for the season, or .522)
PAC-10: 13 this week (122/172 for the season, or .709)

Now, using a complicated points system I Just developed to keep track of the Weekly Winners, based on 1) number of participants that week, and 2) points being split for co-winners, here is how the weekly winners point stack up:
NFL: Tyler (1.75 pts, 2 wins); Greg (1.25 pts, 1 win, and he hasn't participated since week 1); Tad (1 pt, 1 win)
PAC-10: Tyler (2.5 pts, 1 win, 3 co-wins); Jake (1.375 pts, 1 win, 2 co-wins); DanG (1.375 pts, 1 win, 1 co-win)

and yes, I have too much time on my hands

Well, I'm up to 7189 words on my "novel," which puts me at a pace of 1797.25 words per day, which is just ahead of the rate needed to achieve 50,00 words by the end of the month. i could have, should have a lot more, as I squandered large parts of Saturday and Sunday I couldv'e otherwise spent writing.
